40’s style print summer dress

With all things vintage making a return, the 40’s is the next era to be revived thanks to the film The Edge Of Love which stars Keira Knightly and Sienna Miller.  This was the time that necessity meant women had to start wearing more versatile clothes including ’slacks’, but there was still a feminine feel as well. This pansy print dress from Warehouse at £45 is a perfect example of 40’s fashion with it’s tie waist and pleated detail.  Wear with some chunky heeled shoes such as these also from Warehouse for £65 for a feminine 40’s look.

For a more functional look choose wide leg trousers and a pretty blouse such as these from Dorothy Perkins.

The blouse is £18 and the trousers are £25 which brings both looks in at just over £150, your granny would be proud!
