Lanvin Purple Ruffle Dress worn by Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman looked stunning in this purple ruffle dress by Lanvin at the 61st Annual Canne Film Festival, and if you’ve got a spare £1900, you can get this gorgeous creation by Alber Elbaz from mytheresa.com.

If however you credit card won’t stretch that far, we have selected a few dresses from the high street so that you can steal her style and nothing else!

The first is a purple slinky ruffle dress from Dorothy Perkins for £30. Team it with some vintage accessories for and elegant look.

The second dress is actually from the bridesmaid collection at Monsoon for £160.  Again this one isn’t overtly full of ruffles but has a lovely bead trim at the hem of each layer.

The third dress is from the Debut range at Debenhams and has the ruffle detail that goes all the way up the side of the dress to the top, which is then finished off with a corsage.  The taffeta prom dress costs £100.
