Fern Britton once appeared on Room 101 wishing to get rid of ridiculously small clutch bags for good, and she had very well argued reasons as well.  Nothing fits in to these tiny little bags except your phone and lipstick (which obviously has to go in no matter what), so the choices are to take your purse but not your keys because you need money for drinks and taxi, but then you can’t get back in the house, or, take your keys and not your purse, then blag your drinks all night as well as the taxi home (tough that one) but you will be able to tumble in to bed.  So thank goodness for the new trend in oversize clutch bags which have been used by celebrities such as Ashley Olsen and Elle Macpherson who know that a girl just has to be prepared.  No need to spend a fortune on designer bags though, this gold snake print oversize clutch is from New Look and costs £20, it’s available in black as well so would work perfectly well to take you from day to evening.
