Solid gold statue of Kate Moss unveiled
A £1.5million gold sculpture of a supermodel, just what we need to cheer us up and see us through some turbulent economic times ahead! Yes I know it’s art and there is great meaning involved with Mark Quinn telling us ”The sculpture is really about whether we make images or they make us. It’s about trying to live up to impossible dreams and immortality.” (Source: The Telegraph). I can’t pretend to be intelligent enough to understand that, I just thought maybe he liked the scene from Goldfinger and decided to do his own interpretation! It cost £1.5 million to make but is expected to fetch £10 million when it’s done it’s stint at the British Museum, not really sure how many people will be lining up to buy it by the end of January once we’re in recession, oh yes, maybe one of those nice city bankers after they’ve received their payoffs!
Yoga pose maybe, but not the most flattering look!
