Apparently Jennifer Lopez only wears her wedding ring when fashion dictates and it matches her outfit, hence the reason she was wearing it to the Latino Inaugural Gala with her floor length strapless blue dress.  However she didn’t wear it to the Golden Globes because it didn’t go with her floor (and cleavage) sweeping, gold Marchesa gown.

Now with a plunging neckline like that no-one is going to notice if your wedding ring doesn’t go!  Call me old fashioned, but a wedding ring is something that really doesn’t have to match your outfit, red carpet or not, unless of course you’ve opted for a ‘Four Weddings & A Funeral’ style plastic heart shaped one, in which case fashion is not a priority.  Wearing a wedding ring is a matter of wearing something special that signifies the vows and the commitment you’ve made to each other, and if you’re going to be fickle about wearing it because it doesn’t go with what you’re wearing, then it doesn’t show much commitment in my view.  I’m not saying don’t ever take your wedding ring off, just using fashion as an excuse seems a bit lame.  Come on ‘Jenny from the block’, especially with that rock, keep it real love!
